Getting a Facelift in Southern California
A facelift is an amazing rejuvenating procedure for someone
who is carrying the wear and tear of daily life and aging in their
face. Stress and genetics can really take their toll on our faces,
causing the skin to wrinkle and droop. Many Southern California face
lift patients turn to the procedure to get back a youthful, more
rested appearance.
Facelift incisions can vary depending on the
extent of work being performed. However, they are usually made
along the inside of the hairline, wrap down around the earlobe,
and then in the hairline behind the ear. Excess fat and tissue
are removed, the muscles are tightened, and the remaining skin
is repositioned to create the new, more attractive contour. Any
excess skin is removed.
Most patients can return to work about
10-14 days after the surgery, but it is usually recommended that
more than 2 weeks be allowed before patients attempt any strenuous
activities. Bruising is usually pretty well faded about 2-3 weeks
after surgery.
